< 1 min read

JACKSON, Ohio-Jackson County is set to host the Ohio Supreme Court at Jackson Middle School on April 24, 2024, as part of the Off-Site Court program, which has been active since 1987. This marks the program’s 83rd session and its first time in Jackson County.

The event involves coordination between Supreme Court staff, local officials, educators, and law enforcement, with preparations spanning over a year. Around 350 students from various local schools will attend, engaging in Q&A sessions with the justices, observing oral arguments, and discussing cases with attorneys.

Jackson County teachers and local attorney educators are collaborating to prepare students by reviewing the cases to be presented, aiming to bridge classroom learning with real-world judicial processes. The community and students anticipate the event eagerly, with notable support from Jackson County Common Pleas Judge Christopher Regan and Jackson High School senior Bailey Witt expressing gratitude for the Supreme Court’s community engagement efforts.
