BG Students Make the Most of Manufacturing Day

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-Bowling Green Middle School hosted its first National Manufacturing Day, where nine Wood County manufacturers showcased modern manufacturing careers to students. The event aimed to dispel outdated perceptions of manufacturing and highlight its evolution, emphasizing the need for skilled workers in the field.

Students engaged in hands-on activities, such as testing gases in fresh produce, using virtual reality goggles for construction visualization, and learning about hydraulics and fluid flow. Manufacturers demonstrated the diverse applications of manufacturing, from food processing to engineering innovations. Penta Career Center showcased robots, while companies like Rosenboom and Betco provided interactive learning experiences. Overall, the event aimed to excite students about the opportunities in modern manufacturing and encourage them to consider careers in the field.
