Cleveland Teen gets ‘Community Control’ After Admitting to Attempted Murder of Kids

CLEVELAND, Ohio-Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Mike O’Malley criticized juvenile court judges on social media for inadequate sentencing. He highlighted a case involving a 14-year-old who allegedly drove a stolen Kia toward a group of children, nearly hitting them. The teen admitted to attempted murder and had previously been arrested in two other stolen Kia cases. Despite this, Judge Kristin Sweeney sentenced him to just one year of community control, treatment at Applewood, and required him to write apology letters to the victims.
