DAYTON, Ohio-Augustine Rosales-Mendez, a 49-year-old Dayton man, has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for raping a 12-year-old child. The sentence follows his conviction on charges including rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery. The victim disclosed the assaults in July 2023, prompting an investigation by Dayton Police. Rosales-Mendez pleaded guilty to one count of each charge. Upon release, he will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender and may face deportation.
