While most teens are spending summer break sleeping in, 14-year-old Gavin Smith is spending his on two wheels, and for a cause that’s close to his heart. Smith’s father was diagnosed with stage four ALK-positive lung cancer seven years ago, and while his dad continues to fight, Smith is channeling that strength into action. He’s one of the youth leaders of SpokesKids, a bike ride organized by children and powered by Pelotonia, raising money for pediatric cancer research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
