Missing Teen Believed to Have Been Found Dead After Search of Great Miami River

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio-A 19-year-old male who went missing on Friday night near the Great Miami River between Franklin and Middletown was found dead on Sunday afternoon, according to city officials. The Middletown Division of Fire and Acting Police Chief Andy Warrick stated that while positive identification is pending, the deceased is believed to be the individual reported missing after entering the water late Friday night. The Butler County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy to confirm identification. Rescue efforts, involving multiple agencies and resources including boats, drones, and helicopters, began late Friday night and continued throughout the weekend along the river near the Germantown Road bridge. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the search, but community support for responders during the operation was acknowledged, with requests to redirect donations of food and water to Fire Headquarters.
