LIMA, Ohio-The Lima Family YMCA and the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) are partnering to expand the “Bean City Bots” robotics team, aimed at high school students and focused on STEM education. The team builds industrial-sized robots to complete specific tasks and competes in Cleveland each March. This collaboration with UNOH will provide more resources, equipment, and space for the team, which previously worked in a smaller, less equipped space. The partnership also offers mentorship opportunities with UNOH students and faculty. An informational meeting for prospective students will be held on October 23, 2024, at UNOH’s robotics building.
