Two Women Accused of Beating 4-Year-Old Boy in Clermont County

CLERMONT, Ohio-Sarah Godby and her ex-partner, Sarah McGinnis, are accused of severely beating a four-year-old boy under their custody in Clermont County. The alleged incident occurred last July, and now, nearly a year later, both women have been indicted on three counts of child endangering.

Prosecutors outlined the allegations in court, stating that the child was beaten with a belt, leaving marks, and had his cheeks dug into with fingernails. They also alleged that the women did not seek help for the child and provided false information to investigators, claiming he fell off a slide. Sarah Godby, represented by attorney Sarah Shelton, maintains her innocence, while McGinnis did not appear in court, resulting in a warrant for her arrest. Judge Kevin Miles expressed concern over the allegations and set Godby’s bond at $20,000.
