DELAWARE, Ohio-Lt. Col. Steven Vicario, accused of raping a child, had his bond reduced from $500,000 to $300,000 due to his lack of criminal history and years of service in the Ohio National Guard. Vicario, 40, faces three counts of rape and pleaded not guilty on April 24, a day after his arrest.
He posted bond and was released from jail. The judge declined the state’s request to place the juvenile victim with a guardian ad litem and found no troubling statements in jail phone calls made by Vicario to the mother of the alleged victim. The mother visited Vicario on April 24 but has not done so since.
