Crestview Students Learn Hands-on in New Middle School STEM Program

OLIVESBURG, Ohio-Brock Hay, a fourth-year teacher at Crestview Middle School, has introduced new STEM courses that emphasize projects over traditional tests. Students in grades 5 through 8 engage in hands-on problem-solving and apply concepts rather than memorizing for tests. Hay underwent extensive professional development with Project Lead the Way, a STEM education organization, to prepare for these courses. The curriculum aims to ignite students’ interest in STEM careers, foster critical thinking, science literacy, and teamwork. Crestview Middle School plans to expand its STEM program into elementary and high school levels.
