MEDINA, Ohio-A now former elementary school psychologist from Medina Schools, Bryan Thompson, was arrested for OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) after being suspected of being under the influence at work. Medina police confirmed his arrest, revealing he had a BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) of .342, over four times the legal limit.
Thompson resigned his position after being placed on administrative leave pending investigation. Police encountered Thompson driving to his apartment after being sent home by school officials. Thompson argued it was sleeping pills, not alcohol, affecting his driving. Despite failing sobriety tests, he was arrested. The school district confirmed no students were in contact with Thompson before he was placed on leave and emphasized their commitment to safety. Thompson faces two counts of OVI and will have a pretrial on July 2 with a trial scheduled for July 25.
