BARBERTON, Ohio-Barberton City Schools Board of Education quickly found a successor to Superintendent Jeff Ramnytz, who retired in August. Assistant Superintendent Jason Ondrus was named superintendent at the Feb. 28 meeting after an internal search.
Ondrus, a Barberton native with 28 years in the district, received overwhelming support from staff and the community. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and outlined his vision for the district. Additionally, the board discussed a proposal from Arcadia Towers for a cell tower installation on district property, with the potential for revenue without upfront costs to the district.
