Local Hero’s Full Circle: From NICU Survivor to NICU Nurse at Nationwide Children’s Hospital

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Hayley Good’s journey began in adversity when she was born prematurely at 24 weeks, weighing just one pound and nine ounces. Despite facing significant health challenges, including intubation and heart surgery, she survived with the support of her family and the medical staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Inspired by her own experiences, particularly the loss of her twin sister at birth, Hayley decided to pursue a career in nursing.

Despite managing her own health issues, such as scoliosis diagnosed at a young age, she persevered and earned her nursing degree from Cedarville University. Her passion for neonatal care led her to join the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital as a nurse, where she now works to support other premature babies and their families, drawing from her own experiences to provide compassionate care.
