A 14-year-old who was robbed while operating a lemonade stand will be recognized for his business efforts during a news conference. Guy Burney, of Community Initiative to Reduce Violence (CIRV), and local businessman Herb Washington are organizing the event scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday morning in at Fifth Avenue and Redondo Road in the Northside neighborhood where the robbery occurred. The teen flagged down a police officer on Monday, August 11, after a male suspect, also 14, allegedly robbed him at gunpoint.
