In mid-August, Akron students went back to school, and on Sunday, they were celebrated and encouraged at a back-to-school festival and parade. It’s a children’s band started by Stephine Singleton the author of “The Adventures of Ryan & Riley and Mr. Teddy the Teddy Bear” and the organizer of The Adventures of Ryan & Riley marching band. This is the first year the children’s band has been active. “I wanted to give them a safe place, a safe environment, just to have fun,” said Singleton. The book was released in 2014.
