< 1 min read

DAYTON, Ohio-Dayton Children’s is launching its new Center for Emotional Wellbeing, consolidating eight existing programs to support mental, emotional, and behavioral health in children and adolescents. Located at Dayton Children’s Connor Child Health Pavilion, the center aims to address various challenges impacting children’s emotional wellbeing, including socioeconomic factors, family dynamics, social media, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

By integrating clinic, community, home, and school-based initiatives, the center will provide comprehensive support, education, and skill-building to prevent future crises. Programs encompass parenting support, mental health first aid, suicide prevention training, and initiatives to reduce stigma around childhood mental health. Community health workers will also offer home-based assistance to improve mental and physical health outcomes for children and families.
