JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio-The Jackson-Milton Wrestling team commenced the year with 17 wrestlers, led by Head Coach Brian Weidenthal and supported by Assistant Coaches Dave Tomaino, Jason Spencer, and Owen McDevitt. Despite having only one senior, Camron Lynn, the team demonstrated remarkable competitiveness throughout various tournaments. Notably, they secured champions in Lucas Sokol and Jack McDevitt at the Division 3 Classic, along with additional placers.
At the league tournament, Lucas Sokol secured 2nd place, with Brayden Greathouse and Caeden Perrine also placing. The team had five qualifiers for the district tournament, showing their strength. Although they didn’t secure placings at the district level, the team remains optimistic for the future, with all wrestlers set to return for the next season. Additionally, the team’s participation increased this year, with wrestlers competing across various weight classes. Their performance at tournaments like the Riverside Invitational and the Division 3 Classic showcased their potential and determination. At their home tournament, they secured champions in Jayden Scott and Jack McDevitt, along with several other placers, highlighting their collective talent and dedication. Overall, it was a commendable season for the Jackson-Milton Blue Jays Wrestling Team.
