AKRON, Ohio-A 14-year-old boy was arrested in West Akron after allegedly firing a gun into the air during an argument near a pee-wee football game at Erie Island Ballfield. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when an off-duty officer providing security heard the gunshots and called for backup. The officer pursued the suspect on foot and apprehended him with assistance from a coach and other officers about a block away. A handgun and additional evidence were recovered, but no injuries were reported. The teen was taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Facility, facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, inducing panic, and weapons under disability.
