COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Tech Savvy program, held on May 11 at Ohio University’s Athens campus, provided students in grades fifth through ninth with the opportunity to explore various STEM fields through workshops and presentations by experts.
Led by esteemed faculty members, Ph.D. candidates, and local scientists, the program aimed to ignite curiosity and inspire students to pursue careers in STEM regardless of their background. Workshops covered topics such as environmental research, psychology, human and plant biology, and computer programming, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in labs. Soft skills were also emphasized, including collaboration and conflict resolution.
