KIRTLAND, Ohio-Kirtland Middle School is embracing a screen-free week, initiated by the Student Leadership Council, to encourage healthier habits and reduce the impact of excessive screen time. Principal Bob Race and administrators, along with students and families, are participating in the challenge to limit internet and social media use.
The goal is to foster alternative learning methods and enhance interpersonal interactions. With the support of teachers, the initiative aims to equip students with essential skills beyond digital literacy. Principal Race envisions expanding the screen-free week to other schools in the district, emphasizing the importance of balance in modern education.
