BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-Kenwood Elementary hosted a career day where students engaged in hands-on activities and interacted with professionals from different fields. Activities included exploring the back of a police cruiser, listening for heartbeats with stethoscopes, simulating dirty water from a landfill, and participating in a land-based triathlon.
Professionals discussed their roles and encouraged students to consider their future career paths. Nurse Michele Haas, for instance, received enthusiastic responses from kindergarteners when she asked them about the duties of nurses, with one child even sharing an amusing anecdote about “getting a baby out.”
