STOW, Ohio-The Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education faced a deadlock in filling a vacant seat, resulting in a tie between candidates Mike Daniels and Kari Suhadolnik. This impasse led to the matter being forwarded to Summit County Probate Court Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer for resolution.
The board had narrowed down the applicants from an initial pool of 10, ultimately conducting interviews to assess their suitability. Board member Lisa Johnson-Bowers supported Mike Daniels due to his expertise in security, emphasizing the district’s current priority in that area. Additionally, she highlighted the significance of Daniels potentially becoming the first Black public official in the city, citing the board’s commitment to diversity.
