TOLEDO, Ohio-Lucas Russell Vanwoert of Celina, Mercer County, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison for creating and distributing animal crush videos, possessing child pornography, and animal cruelty. Authorities discovered he sexually abused, tortured, and killed at least four dogs, sharing videos of his crimes globally.
He will also face 15 years of supervision post-release, pay $9,000 in restitution, and be banned from owning animals for life. In a separate case, Ronald P. Bedra from Etna pleaded guilty to distributing videos depicting extreme animal abuse against monkeys, orchestrated through encrypted chat apps.
