COLUMBUS, Ohio-Gregory Rippel, a 37-year-old Columbus man recently released from a 120-day jail sentence for child pornography, was found with new child porn on his cellphone shortly after his release. While living at a sober living facility, Rippel’s roommate discovered a thumbnail of a young boy on Rippel’s phone. Upon further investigation, the roommate found hundreds of explicit images and videos of young boys stored in an app called Mega. Police were alerted, and Rippel admitted to possessing between 200 and 300 such files. He faces charges of possessing child pornography and is awaiting court appearances.
