ELYRIA, Ohio-A young child fell about 15 feet onto rocks along the Black River in Cascade Park, Elyria, on Thursday afternoon. Emergency services received the call around 3 p.m. and found the child in a difficult position between large rocks and the river near the West Falls. Rescue teams stabilized the child, placed her in a basket, and lifted her to safety. Due to the serious injuries and the complexity of the rescue, Lifeflight was called, and the child was flown to MetroHealth Hospital. The rescue involved Elyria Fire, Lorain Metro Parks Rangers, and Lifecare.
