CINCINNATI, Ohio-Cincinnati police and activists have observed positive changes in teenage behavior downtown following violent incidents. The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, alongside the Cincinnati Black United Front, has been present at a popular bus stop, providing job and mental health resources.
They’ve partnered with 3CDC for summer work opportunities. Over 100 teenagers have been connected with jobs, and there’s been a positive response to mental health resources. CPD believes these efforts will have broader positive effects on neighborhoods. Additionally, programs like Feed and Seed at Fountain Square aim to foster fellowship and educate teens on appropriate behavior downtown. Recreational centers staying open late and the formation of a youth advisory council are also contributing to positive community engagement efforts.
