RIVERSIDE, Ohio-Riverside High School art students collaborated with Painesville Township to paint designs on the township’s snowplows, a project initiated in 2016. The students, enrolled in Art 1-4, submitted creative designs without a specific theme. Art department chair Jessica Biller highlighted the enjoyment and sense of accomplishment the students experienced.
Approximately 34 students painted 11 plows starting at 7:30 a.m. on May 3 at the Painesville Township Service Garage. The painted plows are showcased at community events and used for street plowing in winter. Originally, the painting took place at the school but moved to the garage due to better weather conditions. Prior to painting, the plows undergo sandblasting and priming, with drivers present to prepare the space.
