Police: Clermont County Sixth-Grader Arrested After Making Shooting Threat at Middle School

BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio-A sixth-grade student at West Clermont Middle School was arrested on Friday for threatening to shoot a specific teacher and claiming to have a firearm in his backpack. The threat was reported to a resource officer around 9:05 a.m., leading to a search of the student’s belongings and the removal of students from the targeted classroom. No weapons were found. The student admitted to making the threats but stated he had no access to weapons and no intention to follow through. He has been charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated menacing, both misdemeanors, and is being held at Clermont County Juvenile Detention without bond. A detention hearing is scheduled for Monday. The student has also been suspended, with potential for further disciplinary action, including expulsion.
