The Kettering City Schools District’s middle school merger — five years ahead of schedule — is a “vital step in the Future-Ready Facilities Master Plan,” according to the district. Van Buren Middle School on Shroyer Road will close at the end of the school year. All sixth, seventh and eighth graders in the 2026-27 academic year will attend Kettering Middle School, which will be renamed with input from the community, the district announced earlier this month.
