SOUTH POINT, Ohio-Nineteen students from South Point Elementary School, ranging from third to fifth grade, were treated to lunch at The Shakery as a reward for their achievement in the Study Island math program.
Diane Kelley, a mathematics intervention teacher, explained that the students earned a blue ribbon in the program, which is based on Ohio academic standards and is known for its rigor. The students were selected from the classrooms of teachers Sarah Klaiber, Sheila Walter, and Channing Eaches. Principal Chris Mathes, who will soon become the superintendent of South Point Local Schools, also accompanied the group for the outing.
