Governor DeWine Announces Teacher Credentialing Grant Program Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Stephen D. Dackin, director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, announced the allocation of $3 million in grants to support teachers in obtaining qualifications to teach college courses under the College Credit Plus program. Five recipients, including educational service centers and universities, will use the funds to cover tuition, textbooks, and other materials necessary for teacher credentialing.

Governor DeWine emphasized the importance of empowering educators to enhance student learning, while Director Dackin highlighted the grants’ role in creating pathways for students to pursue successful careers. Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Mike Duffey emphasized the benefits of increasing the number of credentialed teachers in the College Credit Plus program, making postsecondary education more accessible to students.
