The juvenile shot in Deer Park along with an adult Sunday is a 12-year-old Amity Elementary School student, Deer Park police confirmed early Monday.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share some difficult news with you. Earlier today, we were informed that a 12-year-old student from Amithy Elementary was shot. At this time, we do not have further details about the incident and the student’s name has not been released,” wrote Deer Park Community City School District Superintendent Jay Phillips in a message to parents and staff Sunday.
