PERRYSBURG, Ohio-Perrysburg is enhancing school safety measures by adding a School Resource Officer at Hull Prairie Intermediate, approved by the Board of Education. This increases the number of school resource officers in Perrysburg to three, covering the high school and now two intermediate schools full-time.
The change was facilitated by the school district assuming responsibility for hiring crossing guards. Additionally, police and fire departments plan monthly meetings with the school district to ensure coordinated emergency response plans. Chief Jones emphasizes regular training for active shooter scenarios and stresses the importance of daily police presence in all schools for enhanced safety.
