Over 2 Dozen Schools Closed Today with High Temps Expected and Air Quality Alerts Issued

CLEVELAND, OHIO-On Tuesday, over two dozen schools across Cleveland and Northeast Ohio are closed due to extreme heat and humidity. The affected counties include Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark, Ashland, Lake, and Lorain. Heat advisories are in effect from noon to 8 p.m. for Ashland, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Richland, and Sandusky counties. Additionally, an Air Quality Alert is in place until midnight for Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit counties. This alert indicates unsafe air quality for sensitive groups such as children, older adults, and those with respiratory or heart conditions.
