CINCINNATI, Ohio-A study by Cincinnati’s Department of Transportation and Engineering (DOTE) found that most drivers are not adhering to speed limits in school zones. The study, conducted in May 2024 at four Cincinnati Public Schools—Gamble Montessori, Withrow High School, Woodward High School, and Shroder High School—revealed that 95% of drivers exceeded 20 mph, and 59% drove 30 mph or faster during school zone hours. The Gamble Montessori zone, for example, has a 20 mph limit when school zone flashers are active.
