Roché Kirk isn’t tempted by open gyms — that’s a “boy thing” — but at the Ed Davis Community Center tonight, she can also get her nails done. There will be food, giveaways and a DJ. She thinks she’ll go, and bring some friends. Roché, who will be a senior at Ellet Community Learning Center this fall, said she wouldn’t have known about the Connect at the Rec program if she wasn’t interning this summer in the City of Akron’s human resources department.
