HILLIARD, Ohio-LifeWise Academy, a Hilliard-based nonprofit providing Christian instruction in public schools, has filed a lawsuit against Zachary Parrish for copyright infringement. Parrish, a parent critical of LifeWise’s religious influence in public education, accessed and shared LifeWise’s proprietary curriculum online without authorization. LifeWise accuses him of willful copyright infringement and claims he intended to damage their reputation by distributing the materials. Parrish, who opposes what he sees as the improper influence of religion in public schools, has refused to remove the curriculum from his website despite LifeWise’s requests. The lawsuit seeks to stop Parrish from further dissemination, remove the copyrighted materials, and recover damages.
