RAVENNA, Ohio-Ravenna families are facing transportation issues due to a nationwide bus driver shortage, leading to missed school days for students. Polly Kinter, a grandmother, has been forced to personally drive her granddaughter to school due to canceled bus routes, which have already caused her to miss several days. Superintendent Dr. Laura Hebert acknowledged the problem, noting that the district started the year short three bus drivers. Efforts to combine routes and adjust schedules have been insufficient, leading to some routes being canceled. These absences are excused, but Hebert is concerned about the impact on students’ academic progress.
