SULLIVAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio-On May 24, a 12-year-old child riding a bicycle was fatally struck by a suspected drunk driver in a truck on County Road 681 near Township Road 350. The driver, James Dwayne Taylor, a 55-year-old man from Ashland, hit the child while driving south in his Chevrolet Silverado truck.
The child, identified as Tye David Miezejewski, was flown to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Taylor, who was not injured, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and charges are pending against him in Ashland County.
