April 8th, 2024-COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio is preparing for Monday’s total solar eclipse, expecting potentially hundreds of thousands of visitors. Governor Mike DeWine activated the Ohio Emergency Operations Center and put the National Guard on standby as a precaution.
Various state agencies will be involved in emergency operations, surging resources and curtailing highway construction projects to accommodate heavy traffic. Officials advised travelers to pack essentials, avoid driving with eclipse glasses, and exercise patience and caution.
