COLUMBUS, Ohio-The high school track and field season is at the regional stage, with athletes vying for spots at the state championship. Beechcroft junior sprinter Tyrell Russell has been named the central Ohio high school boys track and field regular-season athlete of the year.
Russell set program records in the 100m, 200m, and 800 relay, showcasing exceptional performance throughout the season. Coach Tremayne Peppers praised Russell’s leadership and work ethic, noting his potential for even greater success. Russell received 29.3% of the vote, followed by Turner Schmidt from Hilliard Davidson and Richard Simpson from Pickerington North.
