April 15th, 2024-CINCINNATI, Ohio-Four children accidentally ingested THC-laced candy at a YMCA camp in Westwood in March, leading to concerns and investigations. Ashley Hargrove, a mother of one affected child, described the incident as “absolutely mortifying.” Her son, Alekxander, exhibited symptoms and was later found to have THC in his system after being transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
The THC-laced candy was unknowingly brought to camp by another child during spring break. YMCA officials confirmed the removal of the child and their parents from the program indefinitely. Hargrove expressed discomfort leaving her children after the incident and urged for better supervision. She also noted a lack of transparency from the YMCA regarding the incident and the removal of the child from the program.
