North Ridgeville High School Student Arrested After Snapchat Alerts FBI of Alleged Violent Threat

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio- A North Ridgeville High School student was arrested following a reported social media threat that indicated potential violence toward the school. Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio informed families that the North Ridgeville Police Department was alerted to the threat, which was made on Snapchat and involved a school shooting. The FBI, initially notified by Snapchat, reported the threat to local police. Upon contacting the student, authorities found she had no plans to act on the threat and lacked access to firearms. She was charged with inducing panic and taken to the Lorain County Detention Home. Ramsey-Caserio praised the community for its vigilance and assured families that there was no ongoing danger, emphasizing that the school would operate normally and that student safety is the top priority.
