ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Charles E. Cawley, 43, was sentenced to a minimum of eight years in prison for possessing pornographic images of children. The sentence was handed down in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court, where Cawley was convicted of pandering obscenity involving a minor. Additionally, he will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
The investigation was prompted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which alerted authorities to illegal material on a phone registered to Cawley’s mother. Upon searching Cawley’s home, law enforcement found incriminating evidence, and he admitted to downloading the materials.
