JACKSON, TOWNSHIP, Ohio-The softball team had a successful season, finishing with a 13-6 record and reaching the district finals. Despite falling short in the finals, they received a trophy as district runner-ups, which they proudly displayed in the trophy case. The team exhibited resilience, working hard and persevering through challenges to achieve their accomplishments.
The energy and support in the dugout were exceptional, with everyone cheering each other on. They will miss the four departing seniors: Maggie Simkins, Alena Len, Jillian Schmidt, and Macayle Thornhill. Thornhill achieved milestones during the season, including her 300th career strikeout and being voted Big Dog of the Valley. Coach Halavick received recognition as the 2024 MVAC Coach of the Year, while several players received MVAC and All-district honors. Overall, it was a successful and memorable season for the Lady Jays.
