Ohio ‘House of Horrors’: What Happens to the 16 Children as Adults Face Mental Evaluations?

As four adults accused in the Ohio “House of Horrors” case prepare to undergo mental competency evaluations, attention is turning to the safety, recovery and long-term welfare of the 16 children removed from the Hamden home. The children, ranging in age from about 20 months to 18 years, were taken into temporary custody by child welfare officials after authorities discovered them inside the property on June 30.
