Former Teacher’s Aide Sentenced in Endangering Case

< 1 min read

WARREN, Ohio-Stephen Bornemiss, a former teacher’s aide, appeared in court to receive his sentence following an incident involving a special needs student. The victim’s mother expressed how Bornemiss’ actions had deeply affected her son, describing instances of mistreatment and trauma.

Bornemiss pleaded guilty to misdemeanor endangering children and apologized to the victim’s family, acknowledging his mistakes and expressing remorse. Despite his lack of prior criminal record and low risk of reoffending, Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice sentenced Bornemiss to three years of probation. Additionally, he was ordered to attend anger management classes, pay court costs, and a monthly probation supervision fee.
