Juvenile court’s new gun monitoring program shows early success in reducing detentions, recidivism

The Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court is reporting promising early results from a new program that allows some youth arrested on gun charges to remain at home with electronic monitoring rather than being held in detention. The Gun Reduction and Intervention Program is an option for youth who are arrested for certain weapons charges but who don’t necessarily pose a high enough risk to the community to require secure detention.
