Ohio Enacts New “Joshua Alert” System for Missing Children With Autism and Developmental Disabilities

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed a new law establishing a specialised alert system designed to improve responses to cases of missing children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The “Joshua Alert,” created under House Bill 359, will trigger targeted notifications to help law enforcement and communities respond more quickly when a child with autism is reported missing, officials said. The legislation was sponsored by Representatives Cecil Thomas and Jennifer Gross.
