MOUNT CARMEL, Ohio-Former Mount Carmel Health System nurse Brian Trissel, aged 51, was sentenced to four to six years in prison after pleading guilty to charges including pandering nudity-oriented material involving a minor, tampering with evidence, and voyeurism. However, he may be eligible for early release in as little as nine months based on his behavior.
Trissel will also have to register as a sex offender for 25 years following his release. The victim’s mother interrupted the sentencing, expressing her frustration, but the judge emphasized the justice system’s goal of fairness rather than vengeance. Trissel was found to have placed cameras in a home, capturing recordings over time, and deleted videos upon learning of the investigation. His nursing license is inactive, and he has forfeited it. While Trissel’s attorney highlighted his client’s steps towards self-betterment, the prosecutor emphasized the seriousness of his actions, stating that anything short of a prison sentence would diminish their severity.
